She added, "I’m counting down the minutes til we can all jump into this brave world together, filled with equal parts nostalgia and brand newness. Head first, Fearless."
Urban might be one of the biggest Swifties out there, calling the "Lover" title track from her 2019 album "so exquisitely written" and "so gorgeously crafted." He later told Billboard at the 2020 Grammy Awards that he considers Swift to be "one of the greatest songwriters period."
Swift's forthcoming album includes re-recordings of the original Fearless songs, along with six never-before-released "From the Vault" songs, including "Mr. Perfectly Fine," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby." In late March, she released "You All Over Me (From the Vault)" featuring Maren Morris.
Fearless (Taylor's Version) is scheduled for release on April 9.
On Friday, the singer challenged Swifties to decode the new song titles with a video clip full of Easter eggs. "The vault door is about to be as unhinged as you'll think I am after you watch this video," she tweeted. "Level: Expert. Happy decoding!"
Swift announced her intention to re-record her first six albums -- released between 2006 and 2017 by Big Machine Label Group -- in 2019, following the acquisition of her master recordings by Scooter Braun. Swift had tried to buy back her masters for years prior to the sale, and began re-recording her back catalog last November.
“It’s going to be fun, because it’ll feel like regaining a freedom and taking back what’s mine,” Swift told Billboard in 2019 of rerecording her catalog. “When I created [these songs], I didn’t know what they would grow up to be. Going back in and knowing that it meant something to people is actually a really beautiful way to celebrate what the fans have done for my music.”
Fearless was Swift’s first album to top the Billboard 200 chart, spending 11 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1. The album also earned Swift her first Grammy Awards, including album of the year; she later won the same award with 2014’s 1989, and took home her third album of the year trophy in March with Folklore.
